Mariposa Lily in the Grass

A strikingly beautiful shot which really shows the color and beauty to be found even in the desert in Arizona. While not the most original shot in your gallery I am really drawn to this particular piece. The contrast between the vibrant flower and the surrounding dull grasses is striking.
The focus on the flower with single stalk in the foreground cutting directly across the color really put the contrast up front. That combined with the angle and the fuzzy out of focus quality of the dull, tan stalk helps to add a lot of depth to the photo as well.
